- Frameless glass showers are suited to bathrooms with fully tiled floors. The floor should ideally have the correctly formed fall on the floor so all water will move toward the drain.
- The door should preferably open on the correct side, so you don't find yourself reaching across the shower-head to turn the shower off or on and getting a wet arm in the process.
- Where a shower door has a top and bottom pivot point, make sure the tail end of the glass pivot does not foul up on taps or fixtures as you open the door.
- Modern building codes require a fully waterproof membrane behind and below the shower area, we use mechanical (screw) fixing only in certain locations to avoid breaking this membrane and causing leak damage.
- Underfloor Heating is common in bathrooms and other tile floored area's, this is another reason why we avoid mechanical fixing (screws) and instead we use a bonding agent to fix the lower channels.

Shower Domes
Showerdome is a clear acrylic dome that simply attaches to an existing shower cubicle to prevent steam from forming in the bathroom. Showerdome was invented in New Zealand by Ken Evans of Tauranga, and is a 100% New Zealand owned and operated company. All Showerdomes are still manufactured in Tauranga, New Zealand.
How it works: to create steam two components are required. Warm moist air (coming out the shower rose), and cold air (in the bathroom). It is only when these two components meet, that steam is formed. Warm water on it’s own can’t make steam.By placing a Showerdome on the shower cubicle, the cold air in the bathroom can’t get in to mix with warm moist air that the shower creates, and therefore NO steam is created – either in the bathroom, or in the shower cubicle. You end up with a warm toasty shower cubicle, and a dry steam free bathroom. There are 10 different shapes and sizes of Showerdomes to fit most exisiting and new showers on the market. Each model is blown on to a blank of either 1m x 1m or 1.2m x 1.2m square, and is then trimmed to custom fit at the time of installation. Showerdome is made of a high grade acrylic and is guaranteed to stay crystal clear for 30 years.

Splashbacks
Glass Splashbacks are a fantastic alternative to tiles, in fact Glass Splashbacks can be used anywhere you would traditionally use wall tiles. We commonly use splashbacks in kitchens behind benches and cook tops and in bathrooms behind showers and other wet areas. Splashbacks can be any colour you wish and we usually recommend you use a Resene colour chart.
